Handle works very easily up and down. The wheels are still rolling well. As this was my first trip so i cannot say much more. Had plenty of space for packing for a 7 day trip.

There's so much space in this bag that it hardly needs the expandable feature. However, I do find that its ability to expand is helpful when it comes to zipping it shut.
